CAN Forecast - Final

Sunday, February 11 - Final
Cote d'Ivoire - Nigeria: Cote d'Ivoire win @3.00
21:00 - Miraculously eliminated from the group stage, the Ivorians have nothing left to lose in this competition. The support of an entire stadium should give the Elephants an advantage. Although Nigeria are favourites, Victor Osimhen's team-mates came very close to going out in the semi-finals against Bafana Bafana. Given their track record, we're expecting the hosts to win this final!

CAN predictions - 1/2 final

Wednesday, February 07 - 1/2 final
Nigeria - South Africa: Nigeria win @1.53
18:00 - A real surprise at this year's CAN, South Africa put in an extraordinary performance to reach the semi-finals. In the qualifying phase, the South Africans overcame Morocco and then Cape Verde, making it more than 24 years since the AFS last reached the semi-finals. As for Nigeria, Osimhen's team-mates are on an almost flawless run, with 4 clean sheets in a row at the CAN. For our part, we're banking on a win for Nigeria, who seem to be a cut above the rest and have the experience to handle this kind of encounter.
Cote d'Ivoire - RD Congo: Victory Cote d'Ivoire @2.05
21h00 - After a complicated start to the Africa Cup of Nations, Cote d'Ivoire have pulled themselves together to put on a show for their fans. Against Congo, the Ivorians have the opportunity to return to a CAN final, and a home one at that. Even if Congo look solid, with full games against Egypt and Guinea, we'll see a victory for Fofana and his team-mates at the end of the 90 minutes.

CAN predictions - 1/4 finals

Friday, February 02 - 1/4 final
Nigeria - Angola: Nigeria win @1.63
18:00 - What a way to go for Angola in this Africa Cup of Nations! The Angolans achieved their best-ever CAN group stage, then extinguished Namibia's hopes with a 3-0 pulverization. In their last 8 matches, Angola are unbeaten, despite facing some of the continent's top teams such as Congo and Algeria. Nevertheless, their dream of the semi-finals should be put to bed by Osimhen and his team-mates, who beat Cameroon in 1/8. Nigeria are more composed than at the start of the competition, and should reach the 1/2 stage.
RD Congo - Guinea: RD Congo win @2.42
9:00 pm - The Democratic Republic of Congo is experiencing a rather unusual CAN, as the Congolese have drawn 3 games in a row in the group phase and had to go to penalties against Egypt in the 1/8 to be decided. With this success against one of Africa's top teams (record CAN wins), Congo become a formidable contender. As for Guinea, they only lost to Senegal in the group stage and then beat their neighbors Equatorial Guinea. We'll give Congo the edge on this CAN prediction!

Saturday, February 03 - 1/4 final
Mali - Ivory Coast: Victory Ivory Coast @2.20
18:00 - After a disastrous group phase, in which the Ivorians lost to Nigeria and more heavily to Equatorial Guinea, the CIV faced the defending champions, Senegal, in the Round of 16. In the Round of 16, the CIV take on defending champions Senegal, and the Elephants pull off a stunning upset by eliminating Sadio Mané and his cohorts on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the end of normal time. Mali, for their part, are unbeaten at this CAN, but against the Ivorians, who will be giving their all in front of their home crowd, they risk elimination.
Cape Verde - South Africa: South Africa wins @2.77
21h00 - Cape Verde and South Africa are two surprising teams. Cape Verde have yet to lose in this African Cup, while AFS had a full game against the favourites Morocco. South Africa's good performances have convinced us and Bafana Bafana should qualify for the 1/2 as they did in 2000.

CAN predictions - 1/8 final

Saturday, January 27 - 1/8th final
Angola - Namibia: Angola win @2.07
6:00 PM - The Black Antelopes came out on top of a group that included Algeria and Burkina Faso, and remain on a two-game winning streak in the CAN. For their part, the Namibians took advantage of the best third-placed team rule to reach the final phase with only 1 goal scored and 4 conceded. With their superiority on paper, we prefer an Angola victory for this CAN prediction.
Nigeria - Cameroon: Osimhen scores @2.58
21h00 - Omnipresent at the front of the Nigerian attack, all the attacking balls go through the Napoli striker. Even though he has scored just one goal in 3 matches, Victor Osimhen must make the most of his status in what can only be described as one of the matches of the Round of 16. With Cameroon's defense fairly permeable, we're expecting a goal from number 9.
➡️ Bet on these matches
Sunday, January 28 - 1/8th final
Equatorial Guinea - Guinea: Draw @2.85
18:00 - The first meeting between these two neighboring countries. A meeting between two teams who have managed to emerge from competitive groups. Nzalang Nacional surprised the soccer world with a comprehensive 4-0 win over the hosts on the final day, their second victory with 4 goals scored. Guinea, who held Cameroon to a 1-1 draw, are likely to face stiff opposition. We're expecting a draw after 90 minutes.
Egypt - RD Congo: RD Congo qualifies @1.90
21h00 - After losing their first-choice goalkeeper and their star striker, Mohamed Salah. The Pharaohs are entering the final phase without a reference match, with 3 draws in the group phase. Their record is similar to that of the DRC, who have yet to win a match at the CAN. Nevertheless, the density of the Congolese squad suggests that they could qualify for this CAN prediction.
➡️ Bet on these matches
Monday, January 29 - 1/8th final
Cape Verde - Mauritania: Cape Verde wins @1.91
18:00 - Winners of their group with 7 points from 3 games and 7 goals scored, Cape Verde are the logical favorites in this match. Although the Mourabitounes beat Algeria (1-0) to qualify for the finals for the first time in their history, Mauritania are likely to suffer in this match against the Cape Verdeans, who were able to rotate players in their last group match. Bebe's compatriots are expected to win.
Senegal - Ivory Coast: Senegal win @2.35
9:00 pm - The Elephants are the star of this first round of the finals, having qualified as the last selection of the 4 best third-placed teams. It's a situation that has forced the coach out of the team and created a number of internal uncertainties. This is in stark contrast to the Senegalese, who managed to win all 3 of their group matches, conceding just one goal in the process. For these reasons, the Lions of Teranga are expected to win this free CAN prediction.

Tuesday, January 30 - 1/8th final
Mali - Burkina Faso: Mali win @2.17
18:00 - With their talented players, Mali can have ambitions in this competition. Their first big test comes against Burkina Faso, who have made a shaky start to the CAN with their latest defeat to Angola (0-2). Unbeaten so far, the Malians are expected to win despite their poor performance against Namibia (0-0) in their last group match.
Morocco - South Africa: Moroccan win without conceding a goal @1.85
21h00 - Serious in the group phase, but without shining, the Moroccans did what was necessary to finish top of their group. Following on from their World Cup success, the Atlas Lions are positioned as potential title favourites. Faced with South Africa, who were rather inconsistent in the first round, Achraf Hakimi's team-mates are expected to win this free CAN prediction.

CAN predictions - Day 3

Tuesday, January 23 - 1st round
Guinea - Senegal: Senegal wins @2.20
18:00 - Group C final between Senegal (6 points) and Guinea (4 points). While the latter did not outclass their opponents, winning by the smallest of scores against Gambia. Their opponents, on the other hand, are on a roll, with 2 wins from 2 games and 6 goals scored. Given the density of players in the Senegalese squad, we're expecting Ismaïla Sarr's team-mates to win.
Gambia - Cameroon: Cameroon win without conceding a goal @1.81
18:00 - Cameroon has no room for error in this CAN 2024. Currently in 3rd place, the Indomitable Lions must win to have any chance of playing in the Round of 8. Faced with a team that has yet to score a single goal in this competition, the Cameroonians are expected to win to finally confirm their status as outsiders.
Mauritania - Algeria: Victory Algeria (H-1) @1.88
21:00 - The Fennecs, who are also struggling after 2 draws, must win to secure a place in the last 8. Faced with the weakest opponent in the group, we're expecting the finalists of the last edition to show their pride and get their CAN off to a flying start. A win by at least 2 goals from Ryad Mahrez's team-mates is our preferred CAN prediction.
Angola - Burkina Faso: Both teams score and - 3.5 goals @2.40
21:00 - Leading by the same number of points, we expect an open match between these two teams, who should play to win and thus secure a place in the final phase. In a match where the forwards seem superior to the two respective defenses, we can see both teams scoring.

Wednesday, January 24 - Round 1
South Africa - Tunisia: Draw @3.00
18:00 - Almost eliminated, it seems that the Tunisian generation is no longer up to the task this year. Faced with a South African team coming off a convincing 4-0 victory over Namibia, the Carthage Eagles are expected to face another tough match. In this evenly-matched match on paper, we're favoring a draw for this CAN prediction.
Namibia - Mali: Mali win @1.55
18:00 - Group leaders Mali are set to face a Namibian side coming off the back of a heavy 0-4 defeat by South Africa. The Eagles, with their all-round team spirit, should get the better of their opponents to secure top spot. Aboubakary Koita's team-mates are expected to win.
Tanzania - DR Congo: Congo win @1.58
21:00 - In Group F, where anything is still possible, Tanzania are the underdogs. Even if the latter can still qualify for the final stages, the Congolese team should take the measure of this match and finally launch their CAN after two draws. The Leopards are expected to win this free CAN prediction.
Zambia - Morocco: Morocco wins @1.61
21:00 - Favourites for the title with Senegal, Morocco must confirm their first place in the group against Zambia. Having been held to a draw by the DRC, Achraf Hakimi's team-mates need to reassure themselves against an opponent coming off two 1-1 draws. The Atlas Lions are expected to win.

CAN predictions - Day 2

Thursday, January 18 - 1st round
Equatorial Guinea vs Guinea Bissau: Equatorial Guinea win @2.35
15:00 - In their first match at the CAN, Equatorial Guinea managed a draw against a strong Nigeria team. With this 1-all draw, Equatorial Guinea extend their unbeaten run to 11 games. As for Guinea Bissau, the Lycaons have just lost to the Ivorians, and took a slap in the face against Mali in their warm-up match (6-2). As a result, we'll be going for a win for Equatorial Guinea in this first CAN prediction.
Cote d'Ivoire vs Nigeria : Victory Cote d'Ivoire @2.02
21:00 - At home and in front of their home crowd, Seko Fofana's Cote d'Ivoire must win. The Ivorians won their opening match 2-0 and now have 4 wins in a row. In the last 4 matches, the Elephants have scored 18 goals. Nigeria may look like a good team on paper, but their collective play is not up to scratch. The Nigerians have not won in 4 matches, and have only drawn against Guinea Bissau. Victory for the CIV in sight!
Egypt vs Ghana: Victory Egypt @1.91
21:00 - If the start of the CAN hasn't been flamboyant for Egypt, it's been even less so for the Ghanaians, who lost to Cape Verde. Ghana's only recent victory came against Madagascar 1-0. Already bottom of their group for 2021, Ghana are unlikely to be able to do much against the Egyptians.
➡️ Bet on these matches
Friday, January 19 - 1st round
Cape Verde vs Mozambique: Mozambique win @2.05
15:00 - Ranked 111th in the world, Mozambique can look back with regret on their opening game against Egypt, which they led until the 96th minute. Facing Cape Verde, who certainly won against Ghana, we can see Mozambique springing a surprise and taking all 3 points. A win for the Os Mambas is on the cards for this CAN 2024 prediction!
Senegal vs Cameroon: Senegal wins @1.87
18:00 - It's the shock of the Africa Cup of Nations kick-off! Reigning champions Senegal face Cameroon in their group match. The Lions of Teranga easily overcame Gambia 3-0 thanks to a fiery Lamine Camara. Cameroon, meanwhile, could only manage a draw against Guinea. Logically, Sadio Mané's team-mates should win again and secure their ticket to the 1/8.
Guinea vs Gambia: Victory Guinea @2.10
21:00 - Guinea and Gambia know that the first two places are virtually unattainable, but the Guineans are aiming to qualify via 3rd place. But to do so, they'll have to beat Gambia, who are on a 3-game losing streak.

CAN predictions - Day 1

Wednesday, January 17 - Round 1
Morocco vs Tanzania: Victory Morocco (H-1) @1.78
18:00 - Among the big favorites to win this CAN 2024 after a historic World Cup run. Morocco are among the favourites to start the competition. Facing Tanzania, whom they have just beaten (2-0) in qualifying for next year's World Cup, the Atlas Lions are expected to win by at least 2 goals to boost their confidence.
RD Congo vs Zambia: Draw @2.70
21:00 - Among the outsiders behind the big African nations, the DRC have no easy match to start their competition. Faced with Zambia, the Congolese will have to be wary of a Zambian side who finished their qualification phase ahead of Côte d'Ivoire with 4 wins from 6 matches. In what promises to be a tight match, we're expecting a draw for this CAN 2024 prediction.

CAN Prediction History

Saturday, January 13 - 1st round
Cote d'Ivoire vs Guinee Bissau : Victory Cote d'Ivoire (H-1) @1.60
21:00 - At home for this CAN, the Elephants play Guinea Buissau in their opening match. Winners in 2015, the Ivorians are on a roll at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara: they are unbeaten in 6 matches and have suffered just one defeat in 14 games played in Abidjan. Opposite them, Guinea-Bissau had a good qualifying campaign, finishing second, two points behind Osimhen's Nigeria. For this first CAN 2024 prediction, we'll be going for a win for the Ivorians.
➡️ Bet on this match
Sunday, January 14 - 1st round
Nigeria vs Equatorial Guinea: Nigeria win and - 2.5 goals @2.17
15:00 - Among the 6 favourites for the title, Nigeria has a very strong team. Ranked 42nd in the FIFA rankings, the team boasts the likes of Osimhen, the 2023 African Golden Ball winner, Moffi and Iwobi. The Nigerians also finished top of their qualifying group with the best attacking record (22 goals in 6 games). Despite Guinea's good form, we expect them to win a match that promises to be low on goals.
Egypt vs Mozambique: Victory for Egypt without conceding a goal @1.53
18:00 - Finalists and most successful nation at the Africa Cup of Nations, Mo Salah's Egypt face Mozambique in their first match. Against the Mambas (Mozambique), the Pharaohs have never lost, and even better, they have never conceded a goal. No doubt the Egyptians will emerge victorious from this duel without conceding a goal. Our CAN 2024 prediction: clean sheet victory for the Egyptians.
Ghana vs Cape Verde: Ghana wins @1.72
21:00 - In Group B, Ghana are the logical second favourites behind Egypt. On paper, the Black Stars are superior to Cape Verde and Mozambique, but have not been outdone in recent matches. André Ayew's team-mates will need to raise their game if they are not to be caught out. What's more, the Ghanaians have some promising players in their ranks, including Inaki Williams, Kudus and Nuamah. We'd prefer them to win the African Cup.
➡️ Bet on these matches
Monday, January 15 - 1st round
Senegal vs Gambia: Senegal wins without conceding a goal @1.47
15:00 - The defending champions, favourites for the title this year (@6.00), will open their competition with a match against Gambia. With only two defeats this year (Algeria and Uganda), Sadio Mané's Senegal have everything it takes to triumph again. However, the Lions of Terranga have a tough opponent in their group: Cameroon. However, it's a game in which Senegal are likely to come out on top without conceding a goal.
Cameroon vs Guinea: Draw @2.85
18:00 - Third in their own CAN in 2021, Cameroon take on Guinea. Facing the Guineans, the Indomitable Lions are not in the best of form, having lost their last two encounters. Cameroon have also not been flamboyant in their qualifying campaign, with just two wins against Burundi on each occasion. For this CAN 2024 prediction, we're looking at a draw at the end of the match against the Guineans, who are looking to make up for their disappointment at the last CAN!
Algeria vs Angola: Algeria wins 1-0,2-0 or 3-0 @1.80
21:00 - Rated at 6.75, the Fennecs are the second favourites behind Senegal. Algeria will be aiming for a much better tournament than in 2021, when they exited at the group stage. Since the CAN, a new wind of change has been blowing through the Greens with the arrival of new players such as Amine Gouirri. Against Angola, who have drawn 5 times and lost once, we're leaning towards an Algerian victory with a triple chance of exact scores for this CAN 2024 prediction.
➡️ Bet on these matches
Tuesday, January 16 - 1st round
Burkina Faso vs Mauritania: Burkina Faso win @ 1.63
15:00 - Last year's semi-finalists, Burkina Faso must confirm their new status this year. Although the Mauritanians had a fine qualifying campaign, beating out the Gabonese team, Burkina Faso seem to have what it takes to beat them, thanks in particular to Premier League striker Dango Ouattara.
Tunisia vs Namibia: A clean sheet for Tunisia @ 1.53
18:00 - With a squad full of experience, there's no doubt that Tunisia can overcome a Namibian nation that took advantage of Kenya's disqualification to escape from a 3-way qualifying group. Eliminated at the end of the quarter-finals at the last edition, we're favouring a clean sheet for the Carthage Eagles, led by Naïm Sliti, in this free CAN prediction.
Mali vs South Africa: Mali win @ 1.88
21:00 - Easy winners of their group phase in the qualifiers, with 5 wins and 1 defeat, Mali are no strangers to the CAN finals, with players from the major European leagues. Even if the South Africans can put up a good fight, the Malians are expected to win their first game of the competition.

How does the Africa Cup of Nations work?

👉 The African Cup of Nations (CAN) is a major international soccer tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Here's how it generally works:
👉 Qualifications : African national soccer teams take part in the CAN qualifiers. Qualifying takes place over several months, usually two years, before the final tournament. Teams are grouped into several groups and play two-legged matches. The best teams in each group qualify for the final tournament.
👉 Group phase: Once the 24 teams have qualified, they are divided into groups for the group phase of the final tournament. Usually, nations are divided into 6 groups, with each group comprising four teams. Each team plays the other three teams in its group in a first-leg match. Points are awarded on the basis of results (win, draw, loss), and the top two teams in each group, together with the best third-placed teams, advance to the knockout phase.
👉 Knockout phase: Teams qualifying from the group phase enter the knockout phase, which consists of the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. Nations compete in a single match at each stage, and in the event of a tie at the end of regulation time, extra time and possibly a penalty shoot-out are used to determine the winner.
👉 Final: The two finalist teams compete in the CAN final. The team that wins this match is crowned champion of the African Cup of Nations.
