Historical Premier League standings
Before it became the world's most-watched soccer competition, the Premier League was originally founded as the Football League. It then became the championship we know today from 1992, which took the name "Barclays Premier League" between 2004 and 2016. Today, 20 clubs battle it out throughout the 38-day season to win the prestigious trophy.
While there is only one winner with a total of 4 Champions League qualifiers (see our Champions League predictions), the bottom 3 teams in the Premier League standings are relegated to the Championship standings. You can find our Premier League predictions as well as our Championship predictions before each matchday. Find all the odds for the next matches to Premier League betting.

Manchester United are the most successful team in the Premier League, thanks in no small part to the arrival of Sir Alex Ferguson on the Red Devils' bench in 1986, who led them to 13 league titles between 1993 and 2013. They are followed by rivals Liverpool, who have 19 league titles to their name. The last of these came in 2020, when Klopp and Salah's Reds finally reached the Holy Grail after 30 years (1990).
Lately, it's been Manchester City's habit to get their hands on the trophy, with 7 titles between 2012 and 2023. Guardiola's arrival at the helm of the Skyblues has taken the Citizens to a new level. One of the greatest achievements of the 21st century: Leicester in 2016. Buoyed by the likes of Vardy, Mahrez and Kanté, the Foxes sprang a surprise despite having just been promoted to the top flight.
