South American Qualifiers Predictions
The favorite ➡️ Ecuador - Chile: Ecuador wins @1.52
Tied on points, Ecuador host Chile in a match of the utmost importance for qualification. The worst away team with 2 defeats in 2 matches, Alexis Sanchez's teammates have not won an away match since March 25, 2022. The hosts, meanwhile, won their first match at home to Uruguay (2-1) before drawing 0-0 with Colombia. Enner Valencia's team-mates are expected to win this match.
The shock ➡️ Brazil - Argentina: Draw @2.92
Argentina have just suffered their first defeat against Uruguay since winning the World Cup. Lionel Messi's team-mates now travel to Brazil for the clash of the tournament. The Seleçao have just suffered 2 defeats away from home to Uruguay and Colombia, and need to bounce back quickly. In what promises to be a tight match, we're favoring a draw for this South American Qualifiers prediction
The striker ➡️ Paraguay - Colombia: Luis Diaz scores
After missing a penalty against Ecuador, the Liverpool striker made up for it last week with a brace against Brazil. Against a Paraguay side that has won just one of its 5 matches since the start of the competition, we can expect the Colombian to have further opportunities to find the net.

Since its beginnings in Uruguay in 1930, this soccer competition has crowned various champion nations. Legendary teams include Brazil, Italy, Germany and Argentina, all of whom have won the title numerous times. Brazil is the most crowned nation, with five stars in all. The tournament has also seen unforgettable moments, emblematic heroes and tragic moments, such as at the last edition in Qatar, where the Argentinians, led by Messi, and the French, led by Mbappé, played out an anthology final with comebacks and a penalty shootout won by the Albiceleste. Despite their defeat in the final, France are proving increasingly consistent, with a second title in 2018 and 2 finals lost in the 21st century. Apart from European and South American countries with 8 different winners, no other continent has tasted the trophy.

Last year's runners-up and increasingly consistent performers, France, with their golden generation of players, are favourites to win the trophy ahead of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Argentina, winners in Qatar, have the status of outsiders despite their triumph, trailing behind their rivals. In fact, Brazil, the most successful nation, is naturally one of the favorites at each edition, despite the disappointments (2 quarter-final eliminations in a row). England are also among the potential winners, with a squad brimming with talent and an encouraging recent track record. Germany, for their part, are not among the favourites due to their last two premature disqualifications in the group phase, as are Italy, who haven't taken part in a World Cup since 2014.

How does the World Cup work?

👉 The FIFA World Cup is an international soccer tournament held every four years, pitting men's national teams against each other. Here's how it generally works:
👉 Qualification phase: Before the main tournament, national teams from all over the world take part in a qualification phase to secure their place in the tournament. Qualification usually takes place over a period of two to three years.
👉 Group phase: Once the qualifying rounds are over, the qualified teams are divided into groups. In the group phase, each nation plays the other teams in its group. The results of the matches determine the ranking in each group. From 2026 onwards, the tournament will consist of 48 countries, with a different format to be defined by FIFA (groups of 4 with best third-place finishers or pools of 3 with 2 qualifiers and a 1/16th-final round).
👉 Knockout phase: Teams who finish top of their group then advance to the knockout phase, which comprises the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. At this stage, teams compete in knockout matches, where the loser is eliminated from the tournament.
👉 Match for third place: In addition to the title final, there is also a match for third place between the two teams who lost in the semi-finals.
👉 The final: The tournament culminates in the final, where the two best nations compete for the title of world champion. The winning team is crowned FIFA World Champions.
👉 Individual awards: In addition to the World Cup trophy, individual awards are presented to the tournament's outstanding players, including the tournament's best player, the tournament's top scorer Golden Shoe, the tournament's goalkeeper and the revelation of the competition (under 22).
