Ligue 2 BKT is the antechamber to Ligue 1. It appeared in 1933, one year after the creation of the first division. From 1972, it was known as "D2" until 2002. In 2016, the naming of Domino's Ligue 2 made its appearance, and in 2020, it was named Ligue 2 BKT.
