How to watch the World Cup?

There's one question that's always on everyone's mind when the World Cup kicks off. How and where to watch the competition on television? Let's find out.

Which channels are broadcasting World Cup matches?

First of all, in France, only two channels have acquired the TV rights to broadcast the World Cup matches in Qatar. TF1 and Bein Sports are the exclusive broadcasters of the competition. As in previous editions, the two media outlets will cover the entire event.

TF1, for its part, will broadcast all the French team's matches as usual. It will also be possible to watch 16 of the 48 group stage matches on the private channel. Then, in the knockout phase, La Une will broadcast the 5 best matches in the round of 16, the 3 best matches in the quarter-finals, and finally the two semi-finals, the third-place play-off and the final.

Bein Sports, on the other hand, was awarded the top prize by FIFA. The sports channel will cover the entire tournament. Soccer fans will therefore be able to follow the World Cup via a single medium. Provided they take out a subscription for 15 euros a month, of course.

There is a 2-hour time difference between Qatar and France. As a result, we'll be treated to an unprecedented program. The first matches of the day will take place at 11am. They will be followed by matches at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm for the first days. During the third match of the group phase, the program will switch to two matches at 4pm and two more at 8pm. Finally, in the knockout phase, the schedule will remain unchanged (4pm and 8pm).
