Copa Libertadores ranking history

The Copa Libertadores, also known as the Copa Conmebol Libertadores, is one of South America's most prestigious soccer competitions. Organized by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), this annual competition brings together the continent's top soccer clubs. Launched in 1960, the Copa Libertadores provides an exceptional showcase for teams to demonstrate their talent and determination on the international stage. The tournament takes the form of group stages followed by knockout rounds, culminating in an electrifying final. Winning the Copa Libertadores is a coveted honour, synonymous with continental glory and the chance to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup. Only the top-ranked teams in the various South American leagues qualify for the Copa Libertadores (see our Copa Libertadores predictions).
