Ranking history soccer Romania
Liga I, Romania's first division soccer league, brings together the country's most competitive clubs. Founded in 1909, this historic league features such iconic teams as Steaua Bucharest (FCSB), Dinamo Bucharest and CFR Cluj. The Liga I format comprises 16 teams who meet in two-legged matches, with a total of 30 league days. At the end of the regular season, 2 groups are formed: the relegation group, in which the bottom team is relegated, and the group for the title race. The leading team is crowned champion and usually qualifies for the Champions League qualifiers (see our Champions League predictions), while other places in European competitions are also at stake, even for the first-placed team in the relegation group (see our Europa League Conference predictions).
